S. 1579 — PARTNER with ASEAN, CERN, and PIF Act

This section authorizes the President, under terms and conditions to be determined, to extend the provisions of the International Organizations Immunities Act—which grants privileges and immunities (e.g., tax exemptions and other protections) to designated international organizations and their personnel—to three additional organizations in the same manner, extent, and subject to the same conditions as for other public international organizations in which the United States participates pursuant to treaty or Act of Congress: (1) the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN); (2) the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN); and (3) the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF).
