S. 1662 — Collaborative Forest Landscape Restoration Program Reauthorization Act of 2025

This section reauthorizes the Collaborative Forest Landscape Restoration Program (CFLRP)—which supports multi-party collaborative groups in developing landscape-scale restoration projects on National Forest System lands to improve forest conditions, reduce wildfire risks, and create jobs—through FY2034 (from FY2023) and makes several related changes. Specifically, it (1) requires project proposals to address standardized monitoring questions and indicators; (2) requires program implementation plans to include a federal staffing plan for collaborative support; (3) directs the Forest Service to give priority to proposals using innovative mechanisms (e.g., good neighbor agreements under 16 U.S.C. 2113a), reducing cross-boundary wildfire risks (including in the wildland-urban interface), and enhancing watershed health; (4) increases the maximum number of selected projects to 20 (from 10) and additional projects to 4 (from 2); (5) expands eligible training uses to include conflict resolution or collaborative governance; and (6) increases the annual funding limitation to $8 million (from $4 million).
