S. 1805 — Promoting Access to Diabetic Shoes Act

This section revises Medicare Part B coverage of therapeutic shoes for individuals with diabetes (i.e., shoes furnished to beneficiaries at risk of complications such as ulcers or amputations) to permit nurse practitioners or physician assistants, in addition to physicians, to provide the required certification of medical necessity and supporting documentation. (Thus, expands the pool of qualified providers for this coverage.)
