S. 1835 — CHIP IN for Veterans Act of 2025

This section expands the pilot program authorizing the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to accept donations of real property, improvements, and now minor construction or nonrecurring maintenance projects needed for VA medical facilities—as established by section 2 of the Communities Helping Invest through Property and Improvements Needed for Veterans Act of 2016 (Public Law 114-294; 38 U.S.C. 8103 note)—and extends the program through December 16, 2031 (from December 16, 2026). (As background, the program facilitates private donations to support VA facility development while imposing conditions on VA acceptance, use, and reporting.)
