S. 1946 — Quad Space Act

This section expresses the sense of Congress that the United States should strengthen cooperation with Australia, India, and Japan through the Quad (i.e., the partnership among these four countries) to address regional challenges, including in space, and promote a free and open Indo-Pacific. It directs the Secretary of Defense, not later than 180 days after enactment, to initiate Quad discussions to identify areas of mutual interest in space best practices, space situational awareness, and space industrial policy; and, not later than 270 days after enactment, to submit a report to the Senate and House Armed Services Committees describing potential areas of mutual interest identified and steps to formalize such cooperation.
