S. 1948 — POST GRAD Act

This section reinstates authority to make Federal Direct Stafford Loans (i.e., subsidized loans) to graduate and professional students for periods of instruction beginning after June 30, 2023 (previously terminated for all periods beginning on or after July 1, 2012, with an exception for certain teacher certification or preparatory coursework). (Thus, such students may again receive interest subsidies on these loans after that date, while retaining the prior increase in annual Federal Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loan limits during the termination period.)
