This section eliminates statutory requirements related to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Department of Defense by (1) striking from the Secretary of Defense's annual report under 10 U.S.C. 113(c) the requirement for status reports on diversity and inclusion in military departments, service academies, Officer Candidate and Training Schools, and Senior Reserve Officers' Training Corps programs; (2) repealing the position of Chief Diversity Officer of the Department of Defense (10 U.S.C. 147); (3) striking requirements for diversity in promotion and other selection boards (10 U.S.C. 573(b), 612(a)(1), 14102(b); sec. 503(c), William M. (Mac) Thornberry National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021); (4) repealing the policy on diversity and inclusion in the Armed Forces (10 U.S.C. 656); (5) repealing the prohibition on requiring identification of gender or personal pronouns in official correspondence (10 U.S.C. 986); (6) revising human relations training requirements to emphasize honor, excellence, courage, and commitment, striking prior references to diversity and equal opportunity (10 U.S.C. 2001(a)(1)(B)); (7) repealing the strategic plan for diversity and inclusion (sec. 529, National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020); and (8) repealing senior advisors for diversity and inclusion in the military departments and Coast Guard (sec. 913(b), William M. (Mac) Thornberry National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021), with conforming amendments.
