S. 214 — MEDAL Act of 2025

This section states congressional findings concerning the prestige of the Medal of Honor, the gallantry of its recipients, their inspirational role for the Armed Forces, and the special monthly pension paid to living persons on the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard Medal of Honor Roll under 38 U.S.C. 1562(a).

This section increases the Department of Veterans Affairs special monthly pension payable to living Medal of Honor recipients to $8,333.33 (from $1,406.73). It further specifies that eligible surviving spouses receive a monthly special pension at the rate of $1,406.73, as adjusted from time to time under the cost-of-living adjustment provision in subsection (e).
