This section prohibits any person from knowingly (1) bringing into the United States for commercial purposes, possessing with intent to sell, or selling a kangaroo of specified species (western grey kangaroo [*Macropus fuliginosus*], eastern grey kangaroo [*Macropus giganteus*], common wallaroo [*Osphranter robustus*], or red kangaroo [*Osphranter rufus*]); or (2) introducing or manufacturing for introduction into, selling or offering to sell, trading, advertising, transporting, or distributing in interstate commerce any kangaroo product (i.e., an item composed wholly or partly of a kangaroo). It establishes criminal penalties for knowing violations of a fine up to $10,000, imprisonment up to one year, or both—with each violation a separate offense deemed committed in the district of possession—and directs the Secretary of Commerce, in consultation with specified officials, to issue implementing regulations, with subsections (a)–(c) effective 180 days after enactment.
