S. 2225 — Prevent Interruptions in Physical Therapy Act of 2025

This section extends locum tenens arrangements (i.e., permitting a substitute physical therapist to bill and receive direct payment under the regular physical therapist's Medicare number during a temporary absence) to outpatient physical therapy services furnished by physical therapists under Medicare Part B, applying subparagraph (D) of section 1842(b)(6) in the same manner as for physicians' services. The amendment applies to items and services furnished after the date of enactment.
