S. 2269 — PRICE Act

This section establishes enhanced penalties under 18 U.S.C. 111 for violations committed against an officer or employee of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) by doubling the applicable maximum term of imprisonment—to 2 years (from 1 year) for simple assault, to 16 years (from 8 years) where physical contact with the victim occurs or with intent to commit another felony, and to 40 years (from 20 years) where a deadly or dangerous weapon is used or bodily injury is inflicted—and adjusting the maximum fine accordingly. (18 U.S.C. 111 criminalizes forcibly assaulting, resisting, impeding, intimidating, or interfering with federal officers, including ICE personnel, engaged in or on account of their official duties.)
