S. 2334 — Waste and Illegal Property Eradication (WIPE) Act

This section authorizes the Secretary of Defense to use expeditionary solid waste disposal systems to destroy illicit contraband, including seized counterfeit materials, unauthorized military gear, illegal narcotics, and classified materials, with such systems equipped for border security, narcotic interdiction, and contraband elimination and made available to military installations, forward operating bases, and partner security forces. The section prohibits the use of open-air burn pits to dispose of illicit contraband, classified military equipment, or hazardous waste materials. The section increases FY2026 appropriations for Other Procurement, Army, by $8,950,000 for solid waste disposal systems, offset by a $8,950,000 reduction in Operation and Maintenance, Army, Additional Activities, Overseas Operating Costs (derived from open-air burn pits in contingency operations).
