S. 2448 — Health Care Fairness for Military Families Act of 2025

This section expands eligibility under the TRICARE Young Adult Program—under which individuals up to age 26 who have exceeded the dependent age limit under 10 USC 1072(2) are deemed dependents for TRICARE coverage—by eliminating the requirement that such individuals be ineligible for employer-sponsored health coverage. The section further eliminates the separate premium previously required for such coverage, which was set at the full actuarial cost and credited to the Defense Health Program account. (Thus, qualifying young adults are now covered under standard TRICARE enrollment fees in section 1075 or 1075a.)
