S. 2494 — Hire Student Veterans Act

This section expands the definition of qualified veteran under the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC)—which provides employers a tax credit for wages paid to targeted groups, including veterans—to include individuals attending an educational institution using educational assistance under chapter 30, 31, 32, 33, or 34 of title 38, U.S. Code, or chapter 1606 or 1607 of title 10, U.S. Code. The section also exempts such veterans from the minimum employment period requirement applicable to other qualified veterans.
