S. 2502 — Preventing the Forced Return of Uyghurs Act of 2025

This section establishes an ineligibility for visas, admission to the United States, or immigration benefits for current or former government officials of the People's Republic of China determined by the Secretary of State to be responsible for or complicit in the forced repatriation to China of Uyghurs or aliens from other ethnic or religious groups more likely than not to face persecution there. Concurrently, it requires referral of such officials to the Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control for potential sanctions blocking their U.S. property and financial transactions; authorizes the Secretary of State to waive the ineligibility if in the U.S. national interest or circumstances have changed; directs reports to specified congressional committees (i.e., Senate and House Foreign Relations/Affairs and Judiciary Committees) on denials and waivers, with the initial report due within 90 days of enactment and subsequent reports every 180 days thereafter (in unclassified form, with a possible classified annex); and terminates five years after enactment.
