S. 2641 — Health Care Freedom and Choice Act

This section nullifies the final interagency rule published on April 3, 2024 (89 Fed. Reg. 23338), by the Internal Revenue Service, Employee Benefits Security Administration, and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services limiting short-term, limited-duration insurance (STLDI)—temporary health coverage exempt from many Affordable Care Act requirements—to three months of initial coverage (renewable for one month, for a total of four months) and independent, noncoordinated excepted benefits coverage. (Thus, reinstating prior allowances for STLDI of up to 12 months initially and 36 months total.)
