S. 2735 — Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians Land Transfer Act of 2025

This section revokes Public Land Order 3309 (dated January 17, 1964; 29 Fed. Reg. 609), transfers jurisdiction over the described lands to the Secretary of the Interior, and directs the Secretary to take into trust, not later than 180 days after enactment and subject to valid existing rights, approximately 80 acres of BLM land and 185 acres of Indian Creek Ranch land (as depicted on the map entitled “Proposed Bureau of Land Management Land Transfer to Shingle Springs Rancheria,” dated May 2, 2025) for the benefit of the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians, Shingle Springs Rancheria (Verona Tract), California. The section further (1) requires the Secretary to review the land for survey needs and, if required, conduct a survey with minor corrections placed on public file at the Bureau of Indian Affairs; (2) declares the land part of the tribe's reservation to be administered as trust property under applicable laws; and (3) prohibits use of the land for class II gaming (i.e., bingo and certain non-banking card games) or class III gaming (i.e., casino-style games) under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.
