S. 2749 — A bill to exempt Medicare from any sequestration under Statutory PAYGO that is caused by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

This section exempts Medicare (i.e., programs under title XVIII of the Social Security Act) from any sequestration order under the Statutory Pay-As-You-Go Act of 2010 (2 U.S.C. 934) issued on or after the date of enactment that is attributable, in whole or in part, to the budgetary effects of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (Public Law 119-21, approved July 4, 2025). (Thus, any PAYGO debit caused by that act will be offset by cuts to other non-exempt direct spending programs.)
