This section terminates the Advisory Committee on the Records of Congress by striking chapter 27 of title 44, United States Code (including its table of sections and table of chapters), effective 60 days after enactment. It requires the Director of the Center for Legislative Archives to submit to the Archivist of the United States, Secretary of the Senate, Clerk of the House of Representatives, Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, Senate Committee on Rules and Administration, House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and House Committee on House Administration an annual report—beginning February 1 of the calendar year after enactment—on the management and preservation of congressional records during the prior calendar year. It further requires the Archivist, Secretary, and Clerk to meet within 60 days after each report submission and within 180 days after any of them assumes office.
