S. 2769 — Safeguarding Personal Information Act of 2025

This section strikes requirements to comply with section 202 of the REAL ID Act of 2005 (i.e., federal standards for state-issued driver's licenses and identification cards) from two laws. (1) It amends Section 2502(b)(3) of the Afghanistan Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2022, by striking language providing benefits under such section notwithstanding subsection (c)(2)(B). (2) It amends Section 475(5)(I) of the Social Security Act by striking "in accordance with the requirements of section 202 of the REAL ID Act of 2005." (Thus, states are no longer required to ensure foster care case review system procedures under title IV-E meet those standards.)
