S. 2855 — Immersive Technology for the American Workforce Act of 2025

This section directs the Secretary of Labor to award competitive grants, not later than one year after enactment from appropriated funds, to eligible entities to create or align and implement career pathways using immersive technology that provide integrated education and training services leading to economic self-sufficiency. Grant funds support (1) training students, including Armed Forces members and veterans, for in-demand industry sectors or occupations; (2) programs accessible to individuals with barriers to employment, per specified ADA and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) requirements; or (3) instructor training in immersive technology. Grants last up to five years with no subsequent awards for the same purpose; the Secretary must prioritize applicants partnering with hiring employers or including covered community colleges or area career and technical education schools, or those aligning with WIOA or Perkins CTE state/local plans, targeting employer needs, in-demand sectors, declining industries, employment barriers, or rural areas. Grantees must report performance indicators to the Secretary at two years and annually thereafter (disaggregated per WIOA); the Secretary must report biennially to Congress, reserve 1-5% of funds for program evaluation and technical assistance, and publish best practices three years into grants.
