S. 2869 — Federal Government Spectrum Inventory Act

This section requires the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) to issue annually, beginning 180 days after enactment of this Act, the Federal Government Spectrum Use Report on federal spectrum usage in bands from 225 MHz to 50 GHz (covered bands). The report must include (1) an introduction summarizing types of federal spectrum usage in the covered bands; (2) an excerpt from the United States Table of Frequency Allocations showing the most recent allocations in the covered bands and relevant footnotes; (3) a table listing the number and type of NTIA-authorized frequency assignments in the covered bands; (4) a summary of major systems and applications using each frequency band or sub-band within the covered bands; and (5) a description of future uses within each band where applicable. The report must be made publicly available on NTIA's website, with a classified annex.
