S. 2871 — Pit River Land Transfer Act of 2025

This section transfers administrative jurisdiction over approximately 583.79 acres of Forest Service-managed land in California (the Four Corners Federal land, as depicted on a specified map dated November 6, 2024) from the Secretary of Agriculture to the Secretary of the Interior and takes that land into trust for the benefit of the Pit River Tribe (including the XL Ranch, Big Bend, Likely, Lookout, Montgomery Creek, and Roaring Creek Rancherias), subject to valid existing rights and excluding approximately 20.03 acres of roads, highways, and public rights-of-way. The Secretary of the Interior must complete a survey of the land within 180 days of enactment. Upon being taken into trust, the land becomes part of the tribe's reservation and is administered in accordance with laws and regulations generally applicable to federal trust property. Class II gaming (i.e., bingo and certain non-banking card games) and class III gaming (i.e., casino-style games) under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act are prohibited on the land.
