S. 2881 — A bill to provide for the transfer of administrative jurisdiction over certain Federal land in the State of California, and for other purposes.

This section transfers administrative jurisdiction over approximately 160 acres of National Forest System land in Tuolumne County, California (as depicted on the map entitled “Ackerson Meadow Land Interchange” dated February 24, 2022), from the Secretary of Agriculture to the Secretary of the Interior for management as part of Yosemite National Park in accordance with National Park System laws; and over approximately 170 acres of National Park System land to the Secretary of Agriculture for management as part of Stanislaus National Forest in accordance with National Forest System laws. It authorizes the Secretaries to make minor corrections or adjustments to the transferred lands by mutual agreement, effective upon Federal Register notice. With respect to hazardous substances on the lands, it requires each Secretary to identify known sites and notify the receiving agency, while maintaining pre-enactment cleanup responsibilities with the transferring Secretary (i.e., Agriculture for the forest land transferred to the park; Interior for the park land transferred to the forest). It preserves valid existing rights and authorizations on the lands, with the receiving agency assuming administration responsibilities.
