S. 2949 — Colorectal Cancer Payment Fairness Act

This section revises Medicare Part B payment rules for certain colorectal cancer screening tests (i.e., those furnished as a follow-up colonoscopy after a positive noninvasive stool-based test, including when polyps are detected and removed) by (1) striking the provision's expiration date of January 1, 2030; (2) limiting application of the current coinsurance percentage to tests furnished through 2025 (from through 2026); and (3) requiring payment of 100 percent of the fee-schedule amount for such tests furnished in 2026 and subsequent years. (Thus, Medicare beneficiaries incur no coinsurance for these tests on a permanent basis.)
