S. 2961 — A bill to direct the United States Postal Service to designate single, unique ZIP Codes for certain communities, and for other purposes.

This section directs the United States Postal Service, not later than 270 days after enactment, to designate a single, unique ZIP Code for each of 69 specified communities across 19 states (i.e., California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin). (Thus, these communities—currently sharing ZIP Codes with others—will gain distinct codes to improve mail delivery, local identity, emergency services, and data tracking.)
