S. 3172 — A bill to repeal certain Acts that impose sanctions upon Syria.

This section repeals two laws imposing sanctions and other measures related to Syria: (1) the Syria Accountability and Lebanese Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2003 (P.L. 108-175; 22 U.S.C. 2151 note), which authorized sanctions against Syria for its support of terrorism, pursuit of weapons of mass destruction, and occupation of Lebanon; and (2) the Syria Human Rights Accountability Act of 2012 (title VII of P.L. 112-158; 22 U.S.C. 8701 et seq.), which required sanctions on individuals responsible for human rights abuses in Syria.
