S. 3195 — Anti-Cash Grab Act

This section repeals section 213 of division C of the Continuing Appropriations, Agriculture, Legislative Branch, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Extensions Act, 2026 (P.L. 119-37), thereby restoring 2 U.S.C. 6628 to its pre-enactment form. As restored, the section deems Senate offices—including Senators, committees, and staff—to retain possession of Senate data (i.e., electronic mail, communications, data, and metadata) notwithstanding use of the Office of the Sergeant at Arms and Doorkeeper of the Senate (SAA) or other providers for electronic communication or remote computing services; such entities do not acquire possession, custody, or control of the data solely by transmitting, processing, or storing it.
