S. 3334 — LAB Personnel Act of 2025

This section defines the term "laboratory workforce at the Drug Enforcement Administration" to include (1) positions at Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) forensic laboratories—such as forensic chemists, fingerprint specialists, digital forensic examiners, and any other positions at those laboratories—and (2) other DEA positions at non-laboratory locations that will be relocated to a forensic laboratory under construction or finalization as of enactment.

This section exempts the laboratory workforce at the Drug Enforcement Administration from hiring freezes or reductions related to spending cuts, reprogramming of funds, or probationary status. It clarifies that this exemption does not restrict the Attorney General's authority to manage the Department of Justice workforce for misconduct or poor performance.
