S. 3429 — Encouraging Public Service in Our National Parks and Public Land Act

This section states congressional findings that (1) units of the National Park System and other public lands are protected for the benefit of all Americans; and (2) fee-free days at units of the National Park System and other federal recreational lands and waters have provided opportunities for community service and should align with important dates and holidays to promote national pride and volunteerism.

This section requires the Secretary to waive entrance fees and standard amenity recreation fees on six specified days each year for Federal recreational lands and waters (previously at the Secretary's discretion) and retains discretionary authority for additional free days. The required days are (1) Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (third Monday in January); (2) first day of National Park Week in April; (3) Juneteenth National Independence Day (June 19); (4) Great American Outdoors Day (August 4); (5) National Public Lands Day (fourth Saturday in September); and (6) Veterans Day (November 11).
