This section establishes a new criminal offense at 18 U.S.C. §120 prohibiting the knowing public disclosure of restricted personal information (i.e., name linked to employment, visual depictions of face/home, date of birth, Social Security number, home address/phone/email/fax, or biometric data) about a covered person or their immediate family with intent to threaten, intimidate, incite, or facilitate a crime of violence. Covered persons include special operations forces members, DoD employees or Armed Forces members designated by the Secretary of Defense for sensitive activities, and federal law enforcement officers assigned to special operations forces. Violations are punishable by fine, imprisonment up to five years, or both; or, if death or serious bodily injury results, by fine, imprisonment for any term of years or life, or both.
