S. 3675 — ICE Protection Act of 2026

This section revises the enhanced penalties in 18 U.S.C. § 111(b) for assaults on federal officers (i.e., persons designated in 18 U.S.C. § 1114, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents) that involve a deadly or dangerous weapon or bodily injury. Specifically, it (1) increases the maximum term of imprisonment to 40 years (from 20 years) and (2) establishes mandatory minimum sentences when a motor vehicle is used as such a weapon, including not less than 5 years for bodily injury (as defined in 18 U.S.C. § 1365), 7 years for substantial bodily injury (as defined in 18 U.S.C. § 113), and 10 years for serious bodily injury (as defined in 18 U.S.C. § 1365).
