S. 3706 — Produce Prescriptions for Veterans Act

This section expands the definition of medical services to include the provision of produce prescriptions and defines produce prescription as a benefit—such as a voucher or debit card—provided to or arranged for a food-insecure veteran with a diet-related chronic condition for the purchase of fruits and vegetables. (Thus, the VA may furnish such prescriptions as part of veterans' medical care under chapter 17 of title 38, U.S. Code.)
