S. 3776 — The Federal Grant Neutrality Act

This section prohibits the Attorney General from requiring, as a condition of Department of Justice grant awards or eligibility, that recipients agree to comply with, certify compliance with, or comply with (1) 8 U.S.C. 1373 (i.e., the requirement that federal, state, or local government entities not prohibit or restrict sharing information on individuals' citizenship or immigration status with federal immigration authorities); (2) any presidential memorandum; or (3) any presidential executive order. (Thus, DOJ grant recipients are not required to affirm adherence to such provisions.)
