S. 3849 — Community Bank Relief Act

This section requires the Board to adjust for inflation the amount described in section 921(a)(6)(A) of the Electronic Fund Transfer Act, which governs reasonable fees and rules for payment card transactions. The initial adjustment, prior to the first annual adjustment, is by the percentage by which the Consumer Price Index for October 2025 exceeds that for October 2009; annual adjustments are then required not later than July 1, 2026, and January 15 of each year thereafter based on the annual percentage increase in the October Consumer Price Index.
