S. 3960 — Smarter Pretrial Detention for Drug Charges Act of 2026

This section amends pretrial release and detention procedures under 18 U.S.C. 3142 by (1) updating references to the statutory authority for DNA sample collection from certain defendants from “(42 U.S.C. 14135a)” to “(34 U.S.C. 40702)” each place it appears; and (2) in subsection (e)(3), striking subparagraph (A) and redesignating subparagraphs (B), (C), (D), and (E) as subparagraphs (A), (B), (C), and (D), respectively.
