S. 4084 — Responder and Recovery Safety in EV Fires Act

This section establishes the Electric Vehicle Fire Response Working Group within the Department of Transportation not later than 90 days after the date of enactment. The working group consists of not fewer than 22 members appointed by the Secretary of Transportation, including (1) at least 2 representatives of the towing industry, (2) at least 6 representatives of emergency response personnel, (3) at least 6 representatives of the electric vehicle industry, (4) at least 4 representatives of relevant research, standards-setting, or training organizations, (5) 1 representative each from the National Transportation Safety Board, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Federal Highway Administration, and United States Fire Administration, and (6) other federal representatives as appropriate.
