S. 4108 — Veteran Burial Benefit Correction Act

This section increases the maximum burial and funeral expenses payable by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for veterans who die from a service-connected disability to the greater of $3,000 (from $2,000) or the amount payable under 5 U.S.C. 8134(a) for federal employees dying from a duty-related injury. The section also establishes annual cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) to the $3,000 amount (rounded to the nearest dollar) equal to the percentage change in the Consumer Price Index (all items, U.S. city average) for the 12-month period ending the prior June 30.
