This section modifies the national vaccine awareness campaign to prioritize increasing vaccination rates among pregnant and postpartum individuals in communities with low vaccination rates, as follows: (1) expands dissemination of vaccine information to public health departments, health care providers, and facilities providing prenatal, obstetric, and pediatric care (previously prenatal and pediatric); (2) includes pregnant and postpartum individuals in vaccine information for individuals and communities; and (3) increases annual funding to $17 million for FY2027 through FY2031 (from $15 million for FY2021 through FY2025). The section also adds to state immunization grant activities a requirement to increase vaccination rates of pregnant and postpartum individuals—including from racial and ethnic minority groups—and their children.
