S. 4146 — Local Data for Better Conservation Act

This section requires the Secretary, in making determinations under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) to list or delist a species as endangered or threatened, to accept and integrate State-collected data. (ESA listings trigger federal protections that generally prohibit take of listed species and require federal agencies to consult on actions likely to jeopardize them or adversely modify designated critical habitat.)
