S. 4176 — STOP FRAUD in Medicaid Act

This section expands the scope of state Medicaid Fraud Control Units (MFCUs)—which investigate and prosecute Medicaid provider fraud and patient abuse or neglect in long-term care facilities—to also cover fraud by individuals with respect to the application for or receipt of medical assistance, in addition to fraud in the provision of such assistance. The amendments apply beginning 180 days after enactment.
