S. 4183 — Veteran Education Assistance Adjustment Act of 2026

This section increases under the Post-9/11 Educational Assistance Program (i.e., Post-9/11 GI Bill)—which provides tuition assistance, monthly housing stipends, and other payments to eligible post-9/11 era veterans and service members pursuing approved education—(1) the annual stipend for books, supplies, equipment, and other educational costs to $1,500 (from $1,000) for degree programs at institutions of higher learning pursued more than half-time and certain other programs; (2) specified monthly stipend amounts to $128 (from $83) for reduced-benefit cases; and (3) requires annual CPI-U-based increases (rounded to the nearest dollar), starting FY2026, for these books stipends and specified reduced monthly stipends.
