This section directs the Chief of Space Operations to submit to the appropriate congressional committees (i.e., Senate and House Armed Services and Foreign Relations/Foreign Affairs Committees), not later than one year after enactment, a report assessing the feasibility and advisability of expanding Multinational Force Operation Olympic Defender—a U.S.-led multinational space domain awareness (SDA) sharing initiative with allies such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom—to include additional Indo-Pacific allies, including Japan and the Republic of Korea. The report must include (1) current expansion activities; (2) policy changes needed by those governments; (3) U.S. funding or policy changes required for their accession; and (4) an assessment of national security effects, feasibility and U.S. national interest of Japan and Republic of Korea accession, and additional executive or legislative resources or authorities needed.
