S. 4238 — Endless Mountains National Heritage Area Act

This section designates the Endless Mountains National Heritage Area in Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna, and Wyoming Counties, Pennsylvania—and portions of other counties identified in the relevant feasibility study—as a component of the National Heritage Area System, with boundaries to be established by the Secretary of the Interior and Endless Mountains Heritage Region, Inc., serving as the local coordinating entity. (National Heritage Areas partner with federal, state, and local entities to recognize, conserve, and promote significant cultural, historic, and natural resources.) It directs the local coordinating entity to submit a proposed management plan to the Secretary within three years of enactment. It terminates the Secretary's authority to provide assistance under the John D. Dingell, Jr. Conservation, Management, and Recreation Act 15 years after enactment.
