S. 442 — AIM HIGH Act

This section establishes an Air Force Technical Training Center of Excellence, to be operated by the Secretary of the Air Force with a head designated by the Commander of the Airmen Development Command. The Center's purposes include (1) facilitating collaboration among Air Force technical training installations, (2) serving as a premier training location for maintainers across military departments, (3) publishing responsibilities to drive excellence, innovation, and leadership in technical training, (4) advocating improvements in curriculum, facilities, and media, (5) fostering outreach with industry and academia, (6) identifying and promulgating best practices and benchmarks, (7) creating a hub for aviation technology and training advancements, and (8) carrying out other duties as directed by the Secretary. The Secretary must locate the Center at an existing Air Force installation that provides technical training and maintenance proficiency.
