S. 4444 — A bill to amend the FISA Amendments Act of 2008 to extend the authorities of title VII of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 through May 21, 2026, and for other purposes.

This section directs the Director of National Intelligence, in consultation with the Attorney General, to publicly release by May 12, 2026, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court's Memorandum Opinion and Order dated March 17, 2026, regarding certifications under section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 (50 U.S.C. 1881a)—which authorizes warrantless electronic surveillance targeting non-U.S. persons abroad to acquire foreign intelligence information—with redactions necessary to protect intelligence sources and methods.

This section extends the authorities of title VII of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 (i.e., Section 702, which authorizes warrantless electronic surveillance targeting non-U.S. persons abroad for foreign intelligence purposes) through May 21, 2026 (from April 30, 2026), by amending the repeal dates in two conforming provisions of the FISA Amendments Act of 2008. The amendments take effect on the earlier of enactment of this Act or April 29, 2026.
