S. 4459 — Expanding Appalachia’s Broadband Access Act

This section directs the Comptroller General of the United States to conduct a study and submit the results to Congress not later than one year after enactment on the Appalachian Regional Commission's capability to incorporate satellites in broadband projects. The study must review the capacity of satellite broadband services for business purposes, evaluate economic development growth in areas that have used satellite broadband for businesses, and analyze the cost-effectiveness of satellite-based broadband for economic development.
