S. 457 — Utah Wildfire Research Institute Act of 2025

This section requires the Secretary of Agriculture, in consultation with the Secretary of the Interior, to establish an Institute in the State of Utah (in addition to existing Institutes required in Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado) to promote adaptive ecosystem management to reduce wildfire risk and restore forest and woodland ecosystems in the interior West through research, technology transfer, monitoring, and collaborative processes. It also authorizes each Institute to cooperate with researchers and cooperative extension programs at colleges, community colleges, and universities in Utah (in addition to those in Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado).
