S. 466 — Fairness for Disabled Young Adults Act

This section increases the age limit for the onset of disability for eligibility for child's insurance benefits under title II of the Social Security Act (i.e., OASDI benefits for children of retired, disabled, or deceased workers) from age 22 to age 26. (Thus, individuals who become disabled between ages 22 and 25 may qualify for such benefits based on a parent's earnings record.) It makes conforming changes to related provisions governing representative payees, disability determinations, SSI payments, and SSI state agreements.
