S. 484 — PLCAA Federal Jurisdiction Act

This section establishes, under the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, a removal procedure allowing a defendant that is a manufacturer, seller, or trade association to remove a state court civil action to federal district court upon asserting that it is a qualified civil liability action. (Thus, the federal court may determine whether the action qualifies as such—generally prohibiting suits against the firearms industry for harm solely due to use or misuse of a firearm—and dismiss it accordingly.)
